To the Chinese, Bats always symbolise happiness, prosperity and blessings. Because the word for bat in Chinese is “Fu”, which sounds like the word for Good Fortune. Bats have always been believed to bring prosperity, abundance and great joy, signalling the arrival of unexpected good fortune, which can be interpreted as windfall luck.

This Bat is flanked with calligraphy of the word “Sau” – longevity – to symbolise enduring good fortune. The base features an abundance of falling coins to symbolise vast prosperity.
